Orthodontist team collecting items for troops in honor of Veterans Day.

Throughout the month of November, all five of Associated Orthodontists’ locations, including one in Frankfort, will be collecting donations for the armed forces.

Associated Orthodontists is encouraging patients to bring in donations to its offices and will enter any current patients in a drawing for a Kindle Fire and a $25 Amazon gift card. One winner per location will also win 300 Smile Miles points.

The orthodontist teams are also encouraging the public to participate as well, and residents can drop off donations at any of their locations during normal operating hours. This is also an opportunity other businesses in the area to show their support by encouraging their customers to bring in items and, in turn, pass them on to Associated Orthodontist. Businesses could reward their customers by providing them with promotional products or discounts.

The donations will make their way to the armed forces via Operation Care Package which is a volunteer, nonprofit organization with a goal to ensure members of the armed forces are not forgotten. A complete list of items can be found on the website, but it includes food items such as powdered drink mixes, canned foods, protein and granola bars, and microwaveable items such as popcorn, macaroni and cheese, and oatmeal.

The troops overseas are also in need of Ziploc bags, AA and AAA batteries, toiletries, socks, and phone cards through AT&T.

Associated Orthodontists is also located in Joliet, Morris, Bourbonnais, and Plainfield.
