Annual celebration returns to Frankfort

May 15, 2017 by

The first Party in the Park celebration of 2017 is taking place next month, hosted by the Frankfort Park District.

The theme for the year is ‘Celebrating 50 Years of Fun’ and the first party will be all about the ‘Groovy 70s’. There will be a DJ dance party with some of the biggest musical hits of the decade, a giant inflatable for the kids, games, and other family-friendly activities. There will also be free giveaways.

In total, three Party in the Park celebrations will take place this year in different city parks, and they will be held on the second Monday of each summer month. The one on July 10 will have the theme of ‘Totally 80s’ and will be held at Michelle Bingham Park. The August 7 party will take place at Heritage Knolls Park with the theme of ‘Whoomp, There it is 90s’. Each will feature the same activities but with an emphasis on a different decade.

No doubt organizers will be distributing advertising materials like flyers all over the Frankfort area to ensure a large turnout for each celebration.

The first Party in the Park will be held at Indian Boundary Park on June 12 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Admission is free of charge for all three parties. To find out more about these events, contact the Frankfort Park District at 815-469-9400.
