Runners ready for challenging North Texas event

February 15, 2018 by

The 40th annual Cowtown Marathon takes place this month, and everyone is invited.

The Cowtown is not a single race that pits every competitor against one another, but rather a collection of races with a variety of different distances to help encourage runners of every ability and age to take part. There are events for kids and adults, a full marathon, half marathon, and much more. The Cowtown Health and Fitness Expo takes place at the same time and offers a wealth of products and information that both runners and non-runners should enjoy.

Vendors still have time to contact the organizers and set up a booth at the event, but space is limited. Runners are required to pick up their packets at the expo on the Saturday, so promotional products that appeal to this group should be popular. The expo organizers expect about 10,000 guests on the Friday, with as many as 60,000 passing through on the Saturday.

All proceeds from the race are used to purchase running shoes for low-income children and there are discounted entry fees for those in this group who wish to enter the Kids’ 5K.

The Fort Worth race fees range from $30 – $150 depending on the race and discounts are available to those that register prior to the race weekend.

The Cowtown expo runs over the weekend of February 23 to 25, and more info can be found on the website.
