New district office of NKY Health to open in Florence

February 5, 2018 by

The Northern Kentucky (NKY) Health Department will be moving into its newly constructed facilities in Florence this month.

The new building housing the NKY Health Department is over 40,000 square feet and is situated at 8001 Veterans Memorial Drive on the Florence Government Center campus. The two-story building includes meeting rooms, offices, and training space. The $6.1m facility was funded wholly by Health Department cash reserves and the sale of existing Health Department properties.

Individual county health centers operated by the Health Department in Covington, Florence, Williamstown, and Newport will remain. However, once the move to the new building is accomplished, the Fort Mitchell and Edgewood facilities, which have been sold, will no longer be operational.

Nearly 100 employees, formerly assigned to Covington, Florence, Edgewood, and Fort Mitchell will work at the new building, which will open on Monday, February 19. Phone numbers and email addresses will not change and the Health Department’s primary phone number will remain the same. An open house will be held at 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on March 14 to familiarize the community with the new facility.

An open house is an excellent ice breaker for a government agency to introduce its facility to the public. Brochure printing often plays an instrumental role in dispersing information to those in attendance.
