Innovative promotion for new Mall Rd. Chick-fil-A

September 4, 2017 by

Dustin DiChiara recently opening the second Chick-fil-A restaurant in Florence, but the grand opening for this location was a little out of the ordinary.

Through 2016, over $31m in food has been given away to the First 100 camped out at new Chick-fil-A’s openings. Although it continues to be the company’s standard celebratory event, DiChiara chose an alternative for his grand opening, deciding on a road trip instead of a campout. On the day of the grand opening, a group comprising those 18 years and up gathered before 6:00 am to register and leave for their road trip.

The First 100 Road Trip saw the group going by chartered bus to take part in a variety of activities. Included was a stop for a home run derby at Florence Freedom Ball Park, time spent sorting donated clothing, a visit to Makerspace, and a stop at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport.

The road trip ended back where it started at the new Chick-fil-A about 3:00 pm to enjoy games and receive a card entitling the recipient to a one-year supply (52 meals) at the chain. Non-road trip participants might note that informal eateries often use a flyer printing service to entice the public with coupons for free items.

A second new location for Chick-fil-A will open in the area on September 14 at Oakley Station.
