Flemington workshop to add the natural world to holiday celebrations

November 13, 2017 by

Flemington families that are looking for a way to include the natural world in their winter holiday celebrations may find just what they are looking for during an upcoming area workshop.

Duke Farms, which is located in Hillsborough, will be hosting an activity that will allow them to craft a variety of tree ornaments made from materials that can be found in nature, such as pinecones, feathers and bark. Once they are complete, the items will be used to decorate the evergreen that will be making its home in the Duke Farms Visitor Center for the holidays.

Along with the ornaments for the tree, the children will also have an opportunity to make an assortment of gifts that will allow them to lend the birds and other wild creatures a helping hand through the winter months when food can be hard to find. The workshop has been planned for kids who are in grades K to 5, and they must be accompanied by an adult.

The ticket price per child for this workshop will be $5 each, and their parents or caregivers can attend free of charge. Holiday cards that invite people to come to a function like this can be supplied by printer in the local area.

December 1 has been selected to be the day for this family friendly holiday activity. More details can be found on the Duke Farm’s Facebook page.
