Fayetteville to host green expo

Residents in Fayetteville and the surrounding areas are looking forward to PWC’s Third Annual Power and Water Conservation Expo.

The two-day event features demonstrations, activities, and lots of tips to help save money and be a little more eco-friendly.

Sponsored by the local utility company, the focus of the event is on practical ways homeowners and businesses can be more efficient in their electricity and water usage. Several demos will be held during the expo, including a mock power pole, which linemen will use to show examples of their work. Additionally, visitors can have an audit of their services by program and incentive specialists, or speak to a watershed specialist to learn about their property location.

The event will also have plenty of promotional products to give away, including a tote bag, LED bulbs, and seedlings to plant trees. The expo will also serve as a collection point for the local Second Harvest Food Bank. PWC is asking for attendees to bring non-perishable foods to donate, including canned meals, canned meats, grains, peanut butter, and cereal. Visitors can also register for the expo to be entered for the chance to win a $100 credit on their utilities bill, a conservation kit, or a full utilities audit.

The Power and Water Conservation Expo will be held on March 24 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, and March 25 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at SkyView on Hay, located at 121 Hay St. Admission is free to the public. Anyone interested in more info should visit the website.
