New streetscape banners with city and business logos to grace Fall River

The city of Fall River is now looking to local companies to produce banners as part of its efforts to promote its designation as an All-American City.

Having once used Community Showcase Banners based in Rochester, New York, the city is soliciting quotes from Graphix Plus and Baker Sign Works Inc., said Avilla Pinnell, Purchasing agent for the city. The light poles on South and North Main Streets and around Government Center are where the banners would be hung from.

The company that wins the bid for making the banners would be able to access the “Make It Here” logo which a firm in Providence designed for the city and then use logo design to add the logo the banners. It will provide 30 free vinyl banners in full color. The company will design, produce, install, and maintain all banners for one year, said Mayor Jasiel Correia II.

Banners will be made available on first-come, first-served basis to businesses who can also select the light pole on which they want their banner displayed. These businesses will also be able to add the logo of their company to the streetscape banner feature.

The National Civic League named Fall River an All-American City award winner in 2016. The banner project is part of an overall streetscape project costing $7 million that was the idea of the mayor.
