August 28, 2017 by

The 2017 Oktoberfest is planned this year in Fairport. It will be held rain or shine under a large tent at the Junction Festival site.

This festival is known as one of the largest in New York. It features music, dancers, and traditional German food.

There will be musical entertainment by many local bands. Festival-goers can expect to hear a variety of music with alpine bands, accordion music, horns, and authentic German music.

Some of the bands performing this year include The Alp Horn Society, Fingers Alpine Band, Fairport Fire Department Octoberfest Band and Genese Valley Band.

The Oktoberfest will feature beer, food, wine and cider. Vendors will serve soups, sausage appetizers, breaded pork chops stuffed with ham and cheese, and pork loaf, amongst other delicacies.

There will also be different types of schnitzel, sauerbraten, and Hungarian Goulash. Side dishes are German potato salad, red cabbage, bread dumplings and more.

The festival features some amazing specialty sandwiches for customers like London Broil, smoked turkey breast, grilled ham and sautéed vegetables. All are served with fresh vegetables, cheese, and sauces.
The hours are October 6th 3 p.m. to midnight and October 7th noon to midnight. The event is sponsored by Fairlawn Periton Partnership.

This will be a fun event for children, college kids and adults to attend with family and friends. Fairport has many professional printing companies that can help organizations with promotional products and flyers for special events.
