Escondido expo to showcase rocks, gems, and minerals

Mining once played an important role in the history of Escondido, and the 63rd Annual Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show at the Center will pay homage to that heritage.

The expo, which has been planned by the Palomar Gem and Mineral Club, will feature a huge assortment of varieties of minerals and gemstones, as well as fossils, jewelry, and much more. Those who attend will also have an opportunity to watch gem cutters and other artisans at work in crafting cut stones, jewelry, and other items. Those who have an antique ring, brooch, or other piece are invited to bring them along to be identified by an expert, and there will be a variety of other activities as well.

Parents are invited to bring along their little ones as well, as this family friendly occasion will include a special area where kids can dig for hidden rock treasures. The admission for adults is $5, while children who are age 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. A banner printing company can supply decorations and other large sized printed items that can be used during a large public function such as this.

Escondido’s Center for the Arts has been selected as the venue for the occasion, which will be held on June 4 and 5. Further information has been made available on the Visit Escondido website.
