Encinitas students eligible for scholarships

March 7, 2018 by

A-1 Auto Transport, an auto transport company based in the small community of Aptos, recently announced that Encinitas students can enter to win the scholarship they’re sponsoring, but they’ll have to hurry.

In order to be considered, students must attend an accredited institution, either a two-year or four-year university or college. Their GPA must be at least 3.0, and they have to submit an original essay, which is entirely their own work, the topic of which is auto transport. Essays will be checked to make sure they are original and not found from sources on the internet.

Among the suggested topics for the essay are how to ship motorcycles and cars; RORO transport; international moving; and enclosed transport. Essays should be sent to: scholarships@a1autotransport.com. The company will publish the entries on its website, where the public will vote on them, with the winner to be announced on the site, and by email, at the end of the month.

Numerous entries have already been submitted, with topics including shipping a yacht, shipping cars to a different country, and even one that re-wrote a Disney movie to include A-1 in the plot. The company is eager to see what the applicants write, and is looking for creativity.

Entries must be completed by March 10, 2018.

Opportunities like this can be publicized if organizers work with a flyer printing company to create a mailer for city residents.
