‘HauntFest on Main’ returning to El Cajon

October 20, 2017 by

El Cajon is getting ready to celebrate Halloween with the sixth ‘HauntFest on Main’ – a family-friendly event in the city’s downtown. The fun is centered in downtown El Cajon, in the 200 block of East Main.

There are a number of events on the schedule including attractions, live music, a costume contest, and a pumpkin patch. The Promenade Pumpkin Patch is big enough to walk through, and people are invited to do so to find the perfect pumpkin for their Halloween celebration. Pumpkins of all sizes will be available, and a Master Carver will be at work to entertain visitors.

Costume contests for both adults and children will be held on the East Main Street Stage, with cash prizes for the winners in the various age groups. In the Kidz Zone, ‘Ghostbuster’ films will be shown on a 26-feet outdoor screen, while those who want to collect candy can follow a candy trail—if they are less than 42 inches tall. Older children will have other games, such as LED Mini Golf, they can play to collect candy.

Music will first be provided by the Stand-Up Guys, with the Amazing 80’s All-Starz following; music starts at 5:00 pm.

HauntFest takes place from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm this evening. Events like this can be even more fun if organizers use colorful, or weird, or scary, banner to decorate the venue.
