Special reunion to be held by Highland Park high school

The 50th Reunion of the classes of 1966 and 1967 of Highland Park High School will be held over one weekend next month.

On the Friday evening of the weekend, the Homecoming Game will be played. Students who currently attend the high school will be conducting tours of the building for alumni on Saturday. On Saturday evening, a dinner will be held at Pines Manor in Edison.

Sunday’s event is a brunch to honor the first group of inductees into the Highland Park High School Hall of Honor. During the brunch, the inductees will have an opportunity to speak to the entire community and will be presented with a token of appreciation.

There are 11 inductees in this inaugural class, six of whom will be able to attend the brunch. They are composed of distinguished alumni spanning six decades. They include Dr. Alan Guth, who modified the Big Bang Theory and is a professor of Physics at MIT; Susan Pitt Anderson, an Olympic swimmer who competed in 1964 and 1968; and Mr. Samuel Freedman, a finalist for 1997 Pulitzer Prize and an award winning journalist and author.

The Reunion will be held from Friday, October 21 through Sunday, October 23. The Reunion Committee might consider various printing services to create flyers and materials to garner enthusiasm for the weekend, and attract as many alumni as possible to the festivities.
