Farmers’ market gates to open for another season

April 8, 2018 by

Easton Farmers’ Market, which is the longest running event of its kind in the whole country, first opened its gates back in 1752. This spring will see it once again offering the public a wide assortment of locally sourced produce and other products.

The market will be holding it grand opening day for the 2018 season, and this will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony. This will be its 266th year, and a wide range of farmers and other vendors will be on-site to greet the shoppers and share details about what they have to offer.

Many types of fruit and vegetables will be available, and the public can browse through the displays set up. Along with this, there will be a variety of products and food crafted by local artisans, and there will be other fun on offer as well.

To help add to the enjoyment of the day, High Street House Band will provide music to keep the crowd entertained while they shop. The Art for the Market program will also be running, and there may even be special activities just for the kids. Banner printing and other services for this type of opening day celebration can be supplied by an area print shop.

The 2018 season for the Easton Farmers’ Market will kick off on May 5. It will be held in the community’s Centre Square and more information is available on its website.
