Frozen debuts in Southgate, Kentucky

April 11, 2012 by

On Friday, April 20th, Monmouth Theatre will be presenting a performance called “Frozen”. The Monmouth Theatre is located at 636 Monmouth Street in Southgate, Kentucky. This performance will begin sharply at 8pm.

Frozen is a play written by Bryony Lavery about a 10 year old girl named Rhona who disappears and is later found murdered. The play focuses on the three main characters whose paths intertwine in a violent and awful way. This dramatic play is very realistic and portrays the emotions of the mother, the serial killer, and the psychologist as they take the guests on a horrifying quest into the events of a horrible crime, and the aftermath of the event. This play is mesmerizing and petrifying at the same time. Guests will be discussing this play for weeks after leaving the evening’s performance.

This play studies what goes on in the minds of men who commit heinous crimes of this nature, and narrows in on the forgiveness and emotional upheaval of those affected. Birmingham Repertory Theater was first to perform this play back in 1998 and was awarded with the “Best New Play Award” by The Theatrical Management Association, and it has been fascinating and terrorizing audiences ever since.

Programs for this performance may have been prepared by local print companies. Tickets for this play cost $17 per adult, $14 per student with valid ID, and $14 per senior over the age of 65.
