The Forecastle festival will take place in Louisville this summer and promises to be quite a bash. A strong line-up of entertainment and activities is in the planning stages.

The event takes place over the date of the birthday of journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson, Kentucky’s native son born in 1937.

The Forecastle event was founded in 2002 by JK McKnight, a native of Louisville. It began as a neighborhood event and has evolved into one of the largest summer festival with thousands of fans coming from across the land to attend. The festival is held in the 85-acre Waterfront Park.

Produced by AC Entertainment, based in Knoxville, the Forecastle event is one of over 750 concerts produced by this entity.

Some of the past artists performing included top stars such as Smashing Pumpkins, My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses, The Avett Brothers and The Black Keys. In addition to well-known performers, the organizers of Forecastle promote local artists, as well. A focus on environmental consciousness is a part of the overall event. Speakers are included at the event as well as prominent community leaders and renowned industry executives.

Flyer printing provides a method of announcing upcoming events. The flyer can contain all the pertinent information and can be distributed throughout the regions. They can be manually distributed or direct mailed.
