Lexington offers chance to bag a family-friendly show

Having got underway last weekend, ‘The Paper Bag Princess’ is a show for the entire family based on a princess who considers nothing to be as important as her wedding.

Ideal for children, a pair of shows is on the way this weekend, and poster printing is likely to be used over the week to advertise it to people in this area and this community.

The public is invited to attend and find out why there is nothing that could be of more significance to Princess Elizabeth than her pending wedding. A problem arises, however, when a fierce and evil dragon shows up and burns the wedding preparations to the ground, before stealing Princess Elizabeth’s much beloved Prince, Ronald. Left with no choice, the Princess sets out on a quest to find and save her so beloved soon-to-be husband.

The play was newly adapted by Jeremy Kisling of the Lexington Children’s Theatre, and offers a fresh, new, and inviting twist to the formula of this classic fairy tale, originally penned by Robert N. Munsch.

Tickets cost $15 per adult and $13 per child. The Paper Bag Princess performance began showing on Sunday, November 10, and will be viewable this Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm, at the Lexington Children’s Theatre located at 418 West Short Street in Lexington, Kentucky, just down the road from London.
