Growing Garlic and Onions continues Gardener’s Toolbox series

On Thursday, April 12, 2012, a how to workshop on “Growing Onions and Garlic” will take place at the Laurel County Cooperative Extension located at Laurel County Office at 200 County Extension Road in London, KY. The Laurel County Cooperative Extension is part of the University of Kentucky’s “Kentucky State University off-campus networks. This workshop will take place at 6:00pm.

This workshop is part of the “Gardener’s Toolbox Workshop Series” and is designed to assist all levels of gardeners and will feature information that everyone can use. This workshop will focus on how to start your season with fresh vegetables, how to grown homegrown onions and garlic, and what health benefits can be obtained by eating onions and garlic. University of Kentucky’s Horticulture Department’s Tim Coolong will be focus on ideal growing conditions to produce plants that are flavorful and rich in nutrients. For attending this event each person will be given 25 transplanted candy onions.

All the stationery printing for the event may have already been completed as this workshop is limited to 50 participants, so early registration is best. Cost to attend this event is $10.00 per person and registration is required.
