February fun on the run near London

January 31, 2014 by

The Valentine Run for Knowledge is an upcoming 5K fundraising event with all proceeds going to help with the expenses incurred for the 7th Annual North Laurel High School Academic Banquet. Poster and banner printing may have been used to promote this fundraising activity to residents in the area, including the neighboring community of London.

This fundraiser takes the form of a race in support of academics and has several age categories so everyone can come out and support the initiative. The course will be run on the North Laurel High School grounds and offers racers and spectators free parking. There will be a trophy presented to the overall top male and female finisher, as well as medals presented to the top runner in each age category. An indoor facility will be open for runners and spectators to stay warm before and after the race.

People who pre-register will receive a free T-shirt, as will those who register the day of the race provided that quantities last. Registration forms are available to download online and those who register in advance (before February 8) will receive $5 off the registration fee.

The cost to register the day of the event is $25 per person, and the run will be occurring on Saturday, February 15, starting at 9:00 am at the North Laurel High School located at 1300 Hal Rogers Parkway in London, Kentucky, with preregistration an hour earlier. To learn more about this event or to register online, visit the event’s website or call the school.
