The residents of Lexington are gearing up for a weekend of creativity this summer, with the Shaker Village Craft Fair coming to the area in August. The Fair is considered by many to be one of Kentucky’s greatest craft events.

Regional artisans will participate alongside elite and energetic new artists. More than 2,000 visitors typically attend the event each year and it has been recognized in the past as one of the Top Five festivals in the state.

High quality handmade arts and crafts will be on show and ready for purchasing, including pottery, glass ware, needle craft, basketry, and leather goods. There will also be floral arrangements, woven rugs, and jewelry.

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is a non-profit organization that exists through the generosity of the public. It is a National Historic Landmark and works to assist in maintaining the village. There group offers a number of programs, providing benefits and discounts for contributors. Information on the group’s website details the opportunities available to support the programs.

Many vendors will participate in the craft festival across the two day period. Vendors typically work with local printing companies in preparation, as they can design and produce materials to promote the vendors’ products and services.

Banner printing is a great way of promoting the name of a vendor’s company and what it offers. Banners are usually large and can fit in the back of the booth or across the front of the table. Due to their size, they can be used to attract attention easily.
