Lexington heads to the West Side for the weekend

November 16, 2012 by

West Side Story was the musical that changed the face or musical theater forever more than fifty years ago. This story has been mesmerizing the audience for all these years and it has now returned to once again entertain a new generation, as well as those who have loved it over the years.

This is an award-winning production of the play, based on Arthur Laurent’s live stage direction. Today, it remains as powerful and as poignant as ever and the Sondheim and Bernstein score is characteristically timely, but is also considered to be one of the finest Broadway productions of American Theater today. Many of the songs, such as ‘Tonight’, ‘America’, and ‘Somewhere’, are timeless classics.

This musical is dance driven and, although more than five decades old, the choreography remains fresh throughout. This production will be two hours and 40 minutes in length with a fifteen minute intermission. The story is not recommended for children under the age of 13 due to some strong language and sensitive subject matters.

Poster printing, brochure printing, and flyer printing may have been used to advertise and promote this ageless production to resident of this community and surrounding cities. Tickets vary in price depending on seating selection.

West Side Story will be taking place from today Friday, November 16 to Sunday, November 18 at the Lexington Opera House located at 401 W. Short Street in Lexington, Kentucky. For tickets, or additional information, please visit the Lexington Opera House website or call 859-233-4567.
