Cincinnati to show its heart with range of runs

As 2014 approaches, people from Cincinnati and surrounding areas such as Crescent Springs in neighboring Kentucky will gear up for the 2014 Heart Mini.

Celebrating 37 years of running, the Heart Mini provides various events for fitness levels of all participants. The runs cover everything for a 2K kids’ event to a half marathon. The 1K Steps for Stroke, meanwhile, has been set up specifically for stroke and heart survivors.

Mercy Health is the sponsor for the event. All proceeds generated will benefit the American Heart Association, the largest organization working on a voluntary basis to prevent and treat heart disease and related cardiovascular disorders. It takes thousands of donors, volunteers, and participants to help continue the fight against such diseases.

The event will take place on March 15, beginning with the Health and Fitness Expo at the Duke Energy Convention Center starting at 11:00 am and continuing until 3:00 pm. The event will feature health screenings, apparel, fitness tests, and a free Kids’ Fun Run for children seven years of age and younger.

Activities will continue on March 16 with the schedule beginning at 7:00 am in the Fountain Square area in the downtown area. Banner printing is a frequent task for local print companies for outdoor events like this, since banners are used as signage to direct participants through the various race routes, as well as within the venue.
