Day of learning planned for East Brunswick and area gardeners

February 8, 2018 by

East Brunswick green thumbs and those who are new to the hobby of gardening alike will soon have an opportunity to gather together with others who want to grow their horticultural skills.

The Home Gardeners School will be offering 38 different workshops that will cover a wide range of plant care and other “green” topics. Those who are interested can choose the ones that are of most interest to them, and this will give people a chance to create their own customized schedule for the event.

The different sessions will be facilitated by experts in their respective fields, and several new topics have been added for this year. During lunch, there will be two keynote addresses to choose from, and the workshops will then continue on through the afternoon. Anyone who comes out is encouraged to bring along a donation of a non-perishable food item for distribution to local families in need, and items for area animals shelters will also be welcome. Signs and other items for a day like this can be supplied by an area banner printing company.

Rutgers University’s Hicks Hall will be the site for this day that will be dedicated to the “green” side of life, and the registration fee is $85.00 each. It has been planned for March 17th, and a special discounted rate is being offered to anyone who signs up to participate before February 28th. The event’s Patch listing includes both further details and a link to register to take part.
