Eagleville to host fundraising run

May 31, 2017 by

Eagleville will be celebrating the life and spirit of SSG Marc Small by supporting a cause he was passionate about.

The namesake of the On Your Marc 5 kilometer run, SSG Small was a Special Forces Medic who lost his life in 2009 while on deployment in Afghanistan, and the race is held in his honor.

This chip-timed run, which raises funds to help children living with communication disorders, will feature a whole lot more than just the run. There will be refreshments and live entertainment for the runners and spectators to enjoy, and both runners, walkers, and those who need a wheelchair or other assistive mobility device are welcome to join in the fun.

Each person who registers to participate before July 12 will receive a free T-shirt, and after that date, they will be given out for as long as supplies last. Early bird registration is $25, and after that, the price will go up. Children under six can register free of charge, and a doggie registration, complete with bandana, is also available. Items such as these shirts, bandannas and much more for a function such as this can be produced by a company that provides both graphic design and printing services.

The On Your Marc event will kick off at the Lower Providence Fire Company, which is located in Eagleville at 3199 Ridge Pike. More information about the event has been added to the Lower Providence Township website.
