Time to hit the pavement in Doylestown

June 13, 2017 by

Doylestown will be hosting its first ever Firecracker 5k, and organizers have planned for it to be a day of family-friendly fun.

The event will kick off at 6:30, and there will be a 5-kilometer firecracker, 1-mile bottle rocket and a half-mile sparkler fun run for the kids. Both the firecracker and bottle rocket options will be timed using ChronoTrack timing, and awards presented to the top three finishers in the firecracker run.

Once the races and fun runs have been completed, it will be time for the festivities to begin. There will be games to play such as bobbing for apples and sack races, face painting, a pie eating competition, bounce castles and much more. To help them cool off, each registered runner will receive a free scoop of ice cream, courtesy of Dave’s Ice Cream, and each finisher will be given a medal.

The number of spots has been limited to just 500, so anyone interested in participating may wish to register well ahead of time so they don’t miss out. Registration sheets and other business forms for an event like this can be custom designed by a local print company.

This race, which honors the nation’s birthday, will be hitting the pavement on July 5th at the Market at DelVal. More information, and an opportunity to register, can be found on the organizer’s website.
