Condo-hotel could rise in Doral

Downtown Doral could get another condo hotel if Eurocon LLC’s site plan and zoning applications are approved.

The company would like to build a 186-room structure on Northwest 107th Avenue, number 3265, a 4.9-acre property that is currently home to two other hotels: the Element, and Aloft. Together.

If the zoning change request is approved, developers could build the third hotel on the property. They could also construct a parking garage on the part of the site that is currently vacant.

As described on the application, a condo hotel is a development in which individual investors own the rooms, but the hotel is not part of a hotel brand-name chain.

Plans call for an 11-story structure comprising 123,396 square feet. There would be 186 guest rooms, and a total of 9,700 square feet on the ground floor designated for retail use. There would also be 1,940 square feet to be used as meeting rooms, while the 11th floor would have outdoor terraces and other amenities.

The parking garage would be six stories high, and comprise 10,800 square feet designated for retail. It would also have meeting rooms offering 6,960 square feet, and a full kitchen. A pool on the ground floor and public art are also planned.

Developers of new properties often work with brochure printers to create illustrated handouts that will show a hotel’s amenities to potential owners and tenants.
