Kids set to raise funds with late July run

June 30, 2013 by

July in Wilsonville will see a non-competitive, yet exciting, run designed for children from pre-school through to grade 8.

The fun run is to feature community information booths, children’s activities, and live entertainment, and is sponsored by the City of Wilsonville and local businesses. Poster printing, banner printing, and other printing services may have been used to make this run possible for children in this area.

It will act as a major fundraising endeavor for the Wilsonville Kiwanis Club, which is hoping to raise around $25,000 at this year’s run through sponsorship by local businesses, with the funds being used for children in this community through grants and scholarships. Parents, grandparents, and guardians are welcome to run with the little ones.

The run is completed in grade level groups and the schedule for each group is posted online. Children with special needs are also welcome, and may run alongside the other kids in their age group. Runners must register prior to July 25 to receive a T-shirt and running number. Lunch is provided courtesy of Albertson’s after this event, and parking is free at the Wilsonville High School or The Boeckman Creek Primary School.

There is no cost to participate in the run, which will be happening on Saturday, July 27 starting at 8:45 am at Wilsonville High School. To learn more about this event, to register, or to check the scheduled times for the runs, please visit the Kiwanis Kids Fun Run website
