WalletHub has released its list of best cities in the U.S. for finding a job in the New Year, and a Dallas suburb and another Texas city made the cut.

Plano, just 20 miles from Dallas, ranked first in the Lone Star State and sixth in the U.S. for places to find a job, while Austin secured the 11th spot. Rankings were reached by the financial website’s comparison of 26 strategic metrics to judge which cities have the strongest job markets. In all, 180 cities were evaluated using criteria such as employment growth, job opportunities, affordable housing, and median annual income.

Plano accumulated a score of 64.69 and took third place for annual income in the U.S. at $83,952 per year, sixth for a strong job market, and fourth place in affordable housing. Austin’s score was 62.29 with a median annual income of $63,019. The city was No. 12 for its job market and tied for the No. 1 spot for lowest unemployment.

Those cities that ranked high on the list will no doubt want to include this in the presentation folders they put together to entice new businesses.

Four of the five cities ahead of Plano on the U.S. list were in Arizona. Chandler topped the list, followed by Scottsdale, Peoria, and Gilbert, with San Francisco, California sandwiched between them in third place.
