US PREP, an alliance of universities that share a vision for preparing teachers to meet the ever changing needs of the classroom, recently announced that Dallas has been chosen as the site for a National Conference.

Open to education related nonprofits in addition to university/school district administrators and educators, attendees can pick from as assortment of meetings. As a rule, US PREP holds semi-annual conventions hosted by universities. During these gatherings, data is reviewed and the success of changes made in the classrooms is evaluated.

Dedicated to creating high-quality teachers who will excel in the classroom from day one, US PREP seeks to foster a success-driven model to ensure teachers are prepared for the diverse teaching situations in which they may find themselves.

The group highlights creating strong district partnerships that enable teacher candidates to come under the tutelage of select, experienced mentor teachers in order to gain real-world teaching experience. The involvement of stakeholders such as district partners, site coordinators, and university professors has already shown measurable results as far as teacher retention and success is concerned.

The convention will provide an opportunity for networking, as well as education, and in addition to the distribution of brochures and flyers, many business cards will likely change hands as well.

The US PREP National Convention, a first for the group, will take place June 11-13 in Dallas and will include leadership outside the coalition.
