Dallas area holiday sales among most promising in U.S.

Allen, Frisco, and Flower Mound are, according to WalletHub, ranked among the cities with top holiday budgets among their consumers.

WalletHub rated 570 American cities by five criteria: income, ratio of debt-to-income, age, ratio of monthly income-to-monthly expenses, and savings-to-monthly expenses ratio. This means the ranking shows a community’s residents’ ability to spend, rather than how much they are inclined to spend.

In addition to the three Dallas suburbs, a couple of Houston suburbs were highly ranked as well. Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs Sugar Land, League City, Allen, Flower Mound, and Frisco all made the top 20.

The Fort Worth suburbs, Sugar Land and League City, are anticipated to have a per-person spend of $2,368 and $2,225 respectively, while Allen, Frisco, and Flower Mound residents are expected to spend $2,163, $1,825 and $1,740 respectively. Those living in Texas’ large cities are ranked lower on their spending ability, with Austin being the highest at No. 189 and Houston and Dallas coming in at No. 394 and No. 398 respectively.

WalletHub’s list is the kind of information that companies whose success is dependent on their holiday sales seek out so they can target their direct mail printing to the best advantage. Moreover, the information will also be useful when it comes time for the summer catalog printing next year.
