County kicks off Latino Heritage Month with festival

The Corazon Latin Festival is taking place in New Brunswick next month. It is presented by New Brunswick Arts, the New Brunswick Cultural Centre and Hub City Sounds.

The festival will help to kick off Latino Heritage Month, which takes place nationally from September 15 until October 15. The day will be filled with performances of Latino and Caribbean music, cultural exhibits and traditional dance exhibitions. There will also be children’s activities and art workshops. It should be a good introduction to Latin culture for those who are interested or for those who belong to the culture to celebrate their heritage.

This is just one of the many events to be held in the city next month. The day before this festival The George Street Playhouse will be holding “Be Unstoppable” which celebrates healthy kids in the arts. There will be theater, dancing, healthy food and lots of activities. Among the performers will be the American Repertory Ballet.

Both of these events are free and will likely be advertised all over Middlesex County, including in Cranbury using flyers and posters obtained from local print companies.

“Be Unstoppable” is taking place on September 19 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the St. George Playhouse.

The Corazon Latin Festival will be held on September 20 from 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
