Coral Springs prepares for annual festival

Coral Springs businesses, non-profits, local artists, merchants, craftspeople and the Our Town America Festival committee are gearing up for the 38th annual three-day Our Town America Festival coming in March.

The event will focus on family fun, with live entertainment, amusements such as the Giant Gondola Wheel and the Kamikaze, games, and a food court manned by local nonprofit organizations. Arts and crafters will be selling their one-of-a-kind original pieces and there will be a classic car show.

Local merchants will be selling their wares, and businesses will have representatives passing out flyers, giving away coupons, and displaying their goods and services.

New this year will be the Our Town’s Got Talent show. The winner will receive $500, the second place finisher $250, and the third place winner $100.

This event is in part a way for local nonprofits in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade County to raise funds for their organizations. Along with the profits garnered through each organization’s sales from event booths, OurTownAmerica, Inc. will donate proceeds of the event.

The OurTownAmerica Festival will be Friday, March 9 from 6:00pm to 11:00pm; Saturday, March 10 from 10:00am until 11:00pm; and Sunday, March 11 from 11:00am until 6:00pm at the Sportsplex Athletic Complex, 2575 Sportsplex Drive. The car show will be on the Sunday from 10:00am until 4:00pm.
