Coral Springs celebrates nation’s birthday

June 7, 2017 by

Summer is upon us and the Independence Day is just around the corner. The City of Coral Springs will be presenting its annual Fourth of July Celebration. As always, admission will be free.

Kids can bounce in the bounce houses, play games and make arts and crafts in the arts and crafts area. There will be a slight fee for each activity.

Food and beverages will also be available for sale. Attendees can be on the lookout for promotional drinkware compliments of local businesses. Local DJ’s will play the latest hits along with patriotic songs and marches that will get everyone into a celebratory mood.

Guests will want to remember to bring lawn chairs and get a good location to see the fireworks.

Parking will be available at the nearby Coral Springs Gymnasium, the Center for the Arts and in Mullins Park. The cost will be $3 per vehicle.

The big event will be on Tuesday, July 4th starting at 6:00 pm at Mullins Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive (a.k.a. N.W. 29th Street), Coral Springs. Fireworks will begin promptly at 9:00 pm. Things will wind down sometime around 10:00 pm.

Those of us planning to attend the event will want to check the town’s website for street closings. The event organizers are asking everyone to leave their pets, personal fireworks, alcoholic beverages and sparklers at home. They also recommend that families arrive early in order to guarantee parking.
