Free coffee offered to promote new beverages

To launch its new line of ‘Simply Great Coffee’, Circle K convenience stores are giving away free 12-ounce cups of coffee during the month of October to customers at select locations.

These stores include two in Charlotte, one in Cornelius, and another in Concord, and giveaways take place between 6:00 and 11:00 am.

S&D Coffee, based in Concord, developed the new line along with Circle K and will include americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes made with fresh milk and freshly-ground coffee beans. The cost of each of these beverages will be less than $3.

Vice President of Circle K Southeast, Mark Ostoits, said that more gourmet espresso-based drinks are becoming the coffee preferences of Americans, particularly among the millennial generation. These new drinks will not need a barista, so they can be served in less than a minute.

As part of the launch, Circle K will also be offering free coffee through several venues in the Charlotte area.

One is a mobile app. Those who download it during the month of October will be eligible for a free Simply Great Coffee drink. Another is a car with the Circle K brand that will appear at various events from September 29 through October 13, offering free cups of coffee.

Stores like Circle K might consider using flyers or mailers to attract people to their special events.
