Columbia residents invited to show their support for local youth

Residents of Columbia are invited to come and take part in an activity that will combine having fun with raising money to support local youth.

The first ever Stronger Together Run/Walk will bring together people from throughout the community in an event that its organizers hope will be fun for all. The public is welcome to run or walk the five-kilometer route as an individual or as part of a team of two or four people. All ages are welcome, and prizes will be awarded to the winners in different age categories.

The goal of the day is to raise money for the Stronger Together initiative, which support children and youth in the community by offering families in need scholarships so their child(ren) can participate in sporting programs, summer camps, and other recreational activities. The organization was formed by Synergy Sports, and serves the mid-Missouri area. Those who plan an event like this can use the services of a printing company to supply them with everything they need, from banners to race bibs, to make a day like this a success.

The event will take place on April 15 in Columbia, and the staging area will be at the Deuce Pub and Pit. Individual registration starts at $30, while a two-person team pays $50, and a four-person entry is $99. An opportunity to find out more or sign up to participate can be found on the Get Me Registered website.
