Military Appreciation Week is coming up soon, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs is getting in on the fun by offering half-price admission to people in the military community.

The discount is being offer to active duty military personnel, veterans, retired military members, and dependents who live in the same household. If the military person is on a deployment, dependents can still enjoy the fun. All they need do is show military identification at the entrance of the zoo.

Ordinarily, the zoo gives military personnel and their families $3 off the admission price, but during the special week, they will be a full 50% off. To take advantage of the offer, attendees have to provide one of the following types of identification: a valid military ID card, either active duty or retired; a copy of the DD 214; a driver’s license carrying either a military identifier or an indication the driver is a veteran; or an ID issued by the American Legion, VFW, or the VA.

The discount applies during the period from September 11 to 17. Zoo hours are 9:00 am until 5:00 pm every day, with 4:00 pm being the latest time anyone can buy tickets.

Events like this can be enhanced if the organization provides colorful brochures indicating the location of the exhibits and any special activities taking place at the venue.
