Broadmoor continues long streak of winning AAA Award

The American Automobile Association (AAA) has awarded Colorado Springs’ Broadmoor Hotel its 5-diamond award.

This is the 42nd time in a row the hotel has been honored by the travel organization in this way.

The Broadmoor, which is on the southwest side of Colorado Springs, is the only hotel in North America that has won AAA’s highest award—the 5-diamond rating—every year since the contest began in 1976.

Jack Damioli, president of the Broadmoor, says the hotel does not take its rating for granted, but works hard to maintain the standards that have secured the honor for 42 years. The owners and managers are committed to the property, and the employees work hard to make sure visitors have an outstanding experience. Damioli says this concern means a lot to people who stay at the Broadmoor, some of whom come back many times.

Damioli said that The Broadmoor and similar iconic properties evolve over time, rather than being built. As public tastes change, the hotel evolves to meet those changes, and the success of this philosophy is reflected in the consistently high ratings, he says.

The AAA is based in Florida, and looks at over 27,000 properties before naming its award-winners. There are only 121 resorts and hotels in North America that managed to win the 5-diamond rating for 2018.

Managers can use awards like this to increase awareness of the property, by including the award in their next round of brochure printing.
