Upcoming forum promotes the local food movement

The 21st annual Forum Dinner is taking place next month at Shelburne Farms, raising funds for the Vermont Fresh Network.

The aim of the forum is to bring together local food producers, chefs, and artisans to showcase their products.

The evening will start off with a Vermont Artisanal Products tasting session. Guests will enjoy a variety of food, local fruits and vegetables, cider and the opportunity to talk to local cheesemakers. This will be followed by farm-to-bar beverage tastings, and after that will be a grazing dinner where guests will be served foods prepared by over 20 local chefs.

During the event there will also be a silent auction and a cash bar. The night will finish off with an ice cream social hosted by Strafford Organic Creamery.

The Vermont Fresh Network helps to promote farmers, artisans, and chefs. It also promotes locally grown food by providing educational opportunities for the public.

This event will likely attract food lovers from all over the area, including nearby Hinesburg. To help spread the word on events like this, local print companies often provide marketing materials.

The Forum Dinner will be held in the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms on August 6 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Tickets are $60 for Vermont Fresh Network members and $75 for nonmembers. Call 802-434-2000 to learn more.
