Pet festival to benefit local rescue organizations

September 11, 2017 by

Wag it Forward: a Festival for Pets, is taking place next month in Champlain Valley. It is a fundraiser for several local rescues and humane societies.

The day will begin with the 7th annual VetriScience Chase Away 5K, which raises funds for Chase Away K9 Cancer. It also includes a fun walk. Dogs are welcome along the race route.

The festival promises to have plenty of activities that will appeal to the entire family and the family pets. There will be a performance of the Dock Dogs, demonstrations from the Vermont Police Canine Association, and 802 Disc Dogs and a costume contest for dogs. There will be children’s activities such as bouncy castles, balloon animals, face painting, and temporary tattoos. For adults, there is a beer garden.

Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the day by The Grift. Vendors will be on hand to sell pet-related merchandise and local rescues will be providing information about their services.

The Champlain Valley Exposition midway will be open also, with admission set at $5.

To advertise events such as this, local stationery printing companies may provide a flyer that can be distributed to such nearby communities such as Colchester.

Wag it Forward will be held at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction on October 8 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To find out the most current information, call 802-862-0995 x240.
