Halloween festivities to appeal to the whole family

The Shelburne Halloween Parade is taking place at the end of this month, presented by Rotary of Charlotte-Shelburne-Hinesburg.

This popular event attracts people from all over the area to get an early start on Halloween celebrations. The parade is set to assemble at Shopping Park and then travel along Falls Road beginning at 2:00 PM. There will be floats from local community groups, Boy and Girl Scouts, and area businesses. Participants will be competing for best float.

After the parade, there will be a variety of activities taking place at various downtown establishments. These include trick or treating, carnival games, and a costume contest at the Town Gymnasium. Those who bring a non-perishable food item will receive a special gift.

The Fire Station will be hosting musical entertainment by the Dixie Six and is set to provide free food and refreshments while supplies last. There will also be a children’s craft activity at Pierson Library.

No doubt families from all over the area, including nearby Colchester, will make their way to Shelburne for the parade to celebrate the upcoming holiday. To help spread the word, organizers may distribute flyers in the community.

The Shelburne Halloween Parade and activities will be held on October 29 beginning at 12:45 PM. For the most up-to-date information, contact Richard J. Fox at 802-448-0118.
