Show of support for soldiers planned near Charlotte

June 1, 2017 by

The wounds soldiers carry may not always be visible to the eye, and residents of Charlotte have been asked to show their support for an event that will seek to lend a helping hand to military members and veterans in crisis.

The day will include 10-kilometer, 5-kilometer and kids events, and those who walk or roll along in a wheelchair or other assistive device are also most welcome. To help thank those who participated in this show of support and further build a sense of community, there will be an assortment of post-race activities for everyone who took part to enjoy with the other racers.

Each person who completes the 10K route will receive both a custom designed dri-fit T-shirt as well as a finisher’s medal. The 5K runners will each be given a dri-fit shirt, and the kids will be given a finisher’s medal that has been designed just for them. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in the different categories as well. A local printing company will be able to supply custom deigned items such as these.

This day that will both raise funds and show currently serving military members and veterans alike that they have a supportive and caring community behind them has been planned for September 23 in Belmont. More information can be found on its eventbu listing.
