Charlotte oncology nurses offered training opportunity

September 5, 2017 by

Oncology nurses from Charlotte and the rest of North Carolina are invited to take part in a course that will give them the knowledge they need to become nationally certified.

The workshop has been planned for nurse managers, staff nurses, and also educators who work in the area of oncology nursing. The organizers noted that it is also suitable for those who are reentering the field, those who are new to it, and those who are transitioning to oncology care from another nursing specialty. An assortment of topics will be covered, ranging from health screening, promotion, and diagnosis to oncologic emergencies and palliative care, and they will be facilitated by healthcare professionals.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences and the Levine Cancer Institute have partnered to offer this day of training. It will open with registration at 7:30 am, and the workshops will run until 3:30 pm, and the fee for the day includes lunch. In an effort to make the event as accessible as possible, it will be made available via video conference at different LCI locations throughout the area. Presentation folders can be prepared for a session such as this that can be filled with information the recipient may find helpful in providing cancer patient care.

September 30 has been selected as the date for this course, and it will take place in the Levine Cancer Institute. It is located at 1021 Morehead Medical Drive, and the fee to participate starts at $65 each.
