Casa Grande cheer teams invited to Florida competition

The Revolution Cheer Company, a Casa Grande gym, is home to several teams that have been invited to participate in a competition in Florida.

Team Venom, Team Havoc, and Team Punisher have all received invitations to the event, which is a D2 Summit in Orlando.

Team Venom is a junior Level 2 team, and won second place in the USA All-Star competition, held March 18 and 19. Team Havoc is a junior Level 1 team, while Team Punisher is a senior Level 2 team. All teams will now go to the D2 Summit, which is a competition that pits teams against each other in an elimination. The gyms invited to participated all have memberships of fewer than 125.

The owner of the gym, Sonja Luevano, said everyone was excited to have been invited to Orlando, and it was a particular honor for Revolution, since all three teams have been asked to participate. Only one other gym in Arizona has scored well enough to have all its teams invited.

It will cost each participant about $1,400 to travel to Florida and participate in the competition. Revolution Cheer is currently conducting fundraising for the trip, and welcomes donations from anyone in the community.

The competition is set for May 12 through 14 in Orlando.
