Casa Grande announces plan to increase fees

August 3, 2017 by

Casa Grande recently posted a notice that it intends to raise some of its consolidated fees. It has yet to be determined whether or not these fees will be raised, so members of the public still have time to comment on the issue.

The city has published a list of the changes to its fees, which include everything from the airport, to animal control, to parks and recreation. The fee changes depend on the department, and vary widely in the amount charged; for instance, a check returned to the city clerk for non-sufficient funds (NSF) was $25, but the change raises it to the bank’s charges plus $15.

At the airport, there was no ‘Extended After-Hours Call-Out Fee’, but now the city is proposed to institute a $75 charge for this service. The original call-out fee, for two hours or less, remains $150. This particular charge covers costs, materials, and labor.

The public hearing will take place at the regularly scheduled meeting of the city council at 7:00 pm next Monday, August 7, at the City Council Chambers on Florence Boulevard. A copy of the various fees levied by the city is available on the city’s website.

Organizers sometimes work with a flyer printing company to create a handout for meetings, listing the agenda items and giving guidelines for speakers to follow.
