Cary inn celebrates roaring anniversary

February 7, 2017 by

The ‘20s are coming back, as the Mayton Inn in Cary celebrates its first anniversary with its Great Gatsby Party. The event will feature special food, costumes, dancing, and more as guests wine and dine the night away.

Though Gatsby and his famous parties are the inspiration for the evening, period garb is merely encouraged, not compulsory. A photo booth will be available for anyone looking for a commemorative snapshot, whether in costume or not.

The Mayton Inn is also rolling out some signature cocktails from the Roaring ‘20s, including the Manhattan and the Old Fashioned. The first cocktail will be given out for free to serve as promotional products for visitors.

Meanwhile, heavy hors d’oeuvres will be passed around while guests box step, foxtrot, or free dance to the DJ. A mix of 1920s classics and modern music has been promised, so there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to get out on the floor. A full meal will also be catered at various dining stations, including Lobster Mac and Cheese, Brie en Croute, Oysters on the Half Shell, and Honey-Glazed Pork Loin

The Great Gatsby Party will be held on February 18 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Mayton Inn, located at 301 S. Academy St. Admission is $85 per person and can be purchased in advance. Anyone interested in more details should visit the website.
