Carlsbad kitchen garden workshop planned

May 3, 2018 by

Growing a kitchen garden can save money, provide produce, and encourage a family to get some fresh air and exercise, and sharing the secrets of a successful veggie patch will be part of an upcoming Carlsbad workshop.

Led by a gardening expert, the class is open to anyone, whether they have never picked up a trowel, or have a seasoned green thumb. An assortment of topics will be covered, and these include seed starting, planning, choosing which plants to use, fertilizing, pest control and a variety of other helpful advice.

Those who take part in the activity are encouraged to bring along any seeds or clippings they wish to swap, as well as any tips and secrets to success that they have found have worked for them. They will have time to socialize and meet others who share their interest in gardening while they enjoy a morning of adding to their horticultural knowledge. Brochure printing that promotes an event like this can be supplied by a printer in the local area.

The workshop, which will be held at the Cole Library in Carlsbad on June 23, is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am. It will run until 12:00 noon, and anyone who is interested in being a part of the session, or who needs more information, has been asked to visit the City of Carlsbad website.
