Groundbreaking held for new Canton hotel

Three years after the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced that it planned to renovate its campus to create a ‘Hall of Fame Village’, April 25 saw ground broken for a luxury hotel to be located in the new development.

Developers believe that the project, which should be finished by 2020, will have an impact on Canton similar to a Disney development, bringing in billions of dollars.

The new hotel, a Curio by Hilton that will be managed by Crestline Hotel & Resorts, is a four-star luxury hostelry that will have a football theme. Designed by HKS Architects, it will offer 345,400 square feet and is slated to open in 2019. If the timing is right, it could host some of the NFL college draft that year.

Among other amenities, the hotel will feature a lobby with a 40-foot ceiling, a fitness spa and indoor pool, retail spaces, a ballroom, meeting rooms, a theater, and spaces for conferences.

In addition to the hotel, the revamped Hall of Fame Village will include Benson Stadium, a museum, retailers, a youth sports complex, a football-themed water park, an indoor performance center, and other features.

Projects like this be aided through working closely with a brochure printing company, which can create illustrated booklets to help potential visitors plan their trip to the area.
