Canton to get a grilling this fall

A popular chain specializing in them plans to open a location in Canton. Melt Bar and Grilled, which already has restaurants in Cleveland, Akron, Mentor, Columbus, Cleveland Heights, Cedar Point, Independence, and Lakewood, will move into Belden Village Mall in Canton, to a building that will be located on the mall’s north side.

The full-service restaurant will have the same design features that are already familiar to its fans, such as murals, cartoon characters, even perhaps a plastic Santa—for reasons no one quite knows.

The brain behind Melt is Matt Fish, a Cleveland chef and musician who loves two things: grilled cheese sandwiches and craft beer. Fish saw the potential for a new concept, which he saw as dressed-up comfort food. Using gourmet cheeses, Fish seeks to serve a simple sandwich in a new way that is both unique and fun.

Menu items all include cheese. One dish, The Dude Abides, features romano and provolone cheeses as well as fried mozzarella wedges, roasted garlic, and basil marinara, all piled on homemade meatballs.

No official opening has been announced for the Canton restaurant, but it is thought it will start welcoming diners in November.

Companies like this can work with a flyer printing company, which can create a handout, including a coupon, for distribution throughout the area at the opening.
