Library to stay cool this summer

With the kids out on vacation, summer is a great time to be in Woodland Hills. For those we want some time out of the sun, two “cool” places to visit are the Woodland Hills Recreation Center in Shoup Park and the Woodland Hills branch library, both of which have entertaining programs available this summer..

Located at 22200 Ventura Boulevard, Woodland Hills, upcoming events at the library include a used book sale, running August 30 – September 1, for adults. Teens will enjoy a workshop on metal art at 4:00 pm on July 26 and, for younger children, there will be preschool story time at 11:00 am on July 25 and a science club at 2:00 pm the same day. The library has differing opening hours depending on the day of the week and is closed on Sunday. For information on opening times, as well as the aforementioned activities, call the library at (818) 226-0017.

The Woodland Hills Recreation Center features an Olympic-size swimming pool where parents can teach their children to swim or just have fun in the water. Poster printing is a fun way to let people know where things are in libraries and recreation centers and it would be no surprise if they were to make use of it.

The pool is open 11:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. The center is located at 5858 Shoup Avenue, Woodland Hills. For more information and details of the centers opening hours, call (818) 883-9370.
