Hip fashion store on the move

The area’s Getta Clue store is about to move location, but it will not be going far.

Justin Bilbao and Scott Gilbert, owners of the clothing store and Good Stock Boutique, have dressed West Sacramento’s young, hip adults for the past 20 years. A new sports arena soon to be built is not throwing Bilbao and Gilbert off their game; they already have plans in place to relocate Getta Clue to a new spot in the Downtown Plaza mall, just west of Macy’s. Good Stock, currently across the street from Getta Clue, will move to Arden Fair.

Though their merchandise changes from one year to the next staying current with the latest fashion trends, Getta Clue’s location has remained the same for almost 17 years. That stability has helped the store stay successful, and is also one reason why they plan to keep Getta Clue in the Downtown Plaza.

Gilbert cites knowing the community really well as another reason for the store’s success, saying:

“We’re able to cater toward our market specifically and the bigger retailers are not able to cater toward a specific market. We know our market intimately, and we’re able to adjust things quicker and take advantage of trends that are happening in Northern California or Sacramento.”

Regardless of the enterprise, from banner printing to baseball cards, savvy owners know longevity in location gives customers confidence, and encourages repeat business.
